Most of the church dates back to the 15th century, with later alterations and extensions in subsequent centuries. The church has been a listed building since 1950.

The main square in the Duchy of Cornwall's Poundbury. Duchess of Cornwall Pub is a nice place, although over-priced drinks and food only so so. You might like instead to choose the next door wine bar and merchant (but only open to 1830).

Largest Green Space in Poundbury newly created wildflower meadows and other habitats plus the Pavillion Cafe

Really nice park in Dorchester. Refreshment kiosks and regular events here.

https://www.dorsetmuseum.org/ Renovated and modernised mid 2021. Much improved. Usually has an exhibition as well as the five galleries. And a rather good Taste cafe. Somewhere to put some calories back in and take in some culture.

King Charles's New Town - rather unique

Wondeful views down to the Frome Valley and Dorset downs from Poundbury Hill Fort a scheduled Prehistoric and Roman archaeological remains and includes evidence of a Neolithic settlement, a substantial Bronze Age occupation site and an Iron Age hillfort. There are also late Iron Age burials and a section of Roman aqueduct. On the eastern side is an earlier Romano-British farmstead; and an extensive later (possibly Christian) cemetery, belonging to the Roman town Durnovaria.
