The Kennet and Avon Canal is a waterway comprising two sections of navigable river linked by a section of canal. It travels through gorgeous countryside and vibrant urban areas, beginning in Bristol and finishing in Reading. This stretch of the canal is exceptionally pretty, with colourful narrowboats, vibrant hedges and even the odd kingfisher flitting around.

Devizes Marina is packed with wonderful narrowboats in every colour imaginable. From the footpath across the canal, it's easy to admire these fascinating boats and see them putter up and down the waterway. The marina is over 100 moorings as well as several residential moorings. If you're truly captivated, you can even arrange to view narrowboats for sale there.

Outside of Devizes the canal towpath you'll have the towpath mostly to yourself, otherwise as you go through the town and down Caen Hill Locks there are quite a few people. No problems though, just slow down, ting the bell and greet everyone with a smile and everyone gets along nicely.

Lovely little cafe with great views of the Marina, and a really friendly woman who owns it.
