Large flocks of starlings can be seen in late summer after riding under the bridge. The bridge offers great views along Bideford Quay and on the Torridge Bridge.

A quiet spot to take in the sights of the river Torridge saltmarshes, an ecosystem that supports many special plants and rare invertebrates. Be careful though, the wooden boards can be a bit slippery when wet.

At low tide, you can walk along the beach here on the banks of the River Torridge. The views here across the river are wonderful.

Fabulous little cafe just off the Tarka Trail and C2C routes. Great cakes, super friendly and plenty of bike parking. Ended up here after attempting to go into John’s Deli in Instow and encountering rudeness, extremely expensive and pretentious cafe offerings and no real seating options. Highly recommend the very slight detour to the beach car park for this cracking little cafe, also situated just across the road from the public toilets. Apparently open 7 days a week til 1800.

Beautiful spot and a great walk plenty to see and do. I will be visiting again.

Super nice little outdoor coffee hut that also does a variety of really nice looking seafood dishes like mussels, oysters, crab and lobster. Coffee and cakes were good, didn't eat on this occasion but will definitely try it out in the future, and add my thoughts here when I do. Dog friendly (they do doggy icecream which I assume is ice cream for dogs).
