Large flocks of starlings can be seen in late summer after riding under the bridge. The bridge offers great views along Bideford Quay and on the Torridge Bridge.

A quiet spot to take in the sights of the river Torridge saltmarshes, an ecosystem that supports many special plants and rare invertebrates. Be careful though, the wooden boards can be a bit slippery when wet.

At low tide, you can walk along the beach here on the banks of the River Torridge. The views here across the river are wonderful.

Spanning 677 feet (206 m), the Bideford Bridge is an important medieval bridge spanning the River Torridge in Bideford. Built around 1280, the bridge has slowly been turned into a stone bridge. It has been a focal point of life in Bideford over the centuries. On New Year's Eve, locals run across the bridge when church bells strike midnight.

Bideford Railway Heritage Centre manages the Bideford station site and Instow signal box, both of which are on the former railway line from Barnstaple to Bideford in north Devon. The old railway line is now part of the popular Tarka Trail and follows the South West Coast Path.
