The views are definitely worth the leg bursting hike up Shepard’s hill

This magnificent view is located on the South West Coast Path. We had typical English weather and as we approached Shaldon we saw the magic of this landscape. Isn't it fantastic?

Following the South West Coast Path all the Way until you can see Shaldon.

This church was not dedicated to one of the many people revered as saints, but to the archangel MICHAEL. The name (from the Hebrew language) means "Who is like God?" He is often depicted - in paintings or as a statue - with a flaming sword, occasionally also a lance. Michael is - together with Raphael and Gabriel, and occasionally Uriel is also included - one of the three or four archangels who (according to human belief) occupy the highest rank in the heavenly hierarchy of angelic beings. Their common feast day in the calendar of saints is September 29th.

Look for a farm gateway opening at the high point of this climb.

Brief drink stop worthwhile here at the high point of this semi-gravel track from Teignmouth to Higher Bishopsteignton. The view over the Teign Valley is superb!

The undulating, grassy hills here offer fantastic views north to Teignmouth and the Ness Beach at Shaldon. On a clear day, you can see far further across Lyme Bay as well as to Torbay, to the south.
