Built in 1825 by James Pigott Pritchett and Charles Watson for the Saltmarshe family, eponymous owners of the neighbouring village from 1313- 1974. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltmarshe_Hall

This is a woodland and wetland reserve with 600m of mainly grass footpaths which create a circular route and can be very muddy during winter. There are lots of tree roots and uneven surfaces across the reserve. Footpaths tend to be narrow. There is one gate onto the reserve at the footpath entrance which is closed from April to July to protect breeding birds.

Howden is a market and minster town with a well preserved Georgian town centre. It's dominated by the impressive arch of the Minster's ruined chancel and the St Peter's Church.

Saltmarshe Delph is a small nature reserve with a diverse mix of wetland habitats. For a small site There's a wealth of wildlife to be discovered, including birds such as marsh harriers and water rails.

Godnow Bridge railway station was a small railway station on the line between Doncaster and Keadby. Now it is a great little bridge to cross over the Stainforth and Keadby canal.

Crowle is a small market town next to the Stainforth and Keadby Canal. It's a quaint place and has a parish church that contains the Crowle Stone runic cross shaft along with a striking Gothic revival market hall.

Really nice cafe with a big room upstairs that's good for groups. Can highly recommend the breakfasts, especially the smoked salmon and scrambled egg - yum.

Godnow Bridge railway station was a small railway station on the line between Doncaster and Keadby, between Medge Hall Halt and Crowle. The area is shown on old maps as "Godknow Bridge". It was opened with the line from Thorne (Old) railway station in September 1859 and closed in 1917.

A small nature reserve on the edge of Saltmarshe, the Saltmarshe Delph is a wetland habitat home to many species of birds and animals. The best time to visit the reserve is from May to September and November to February, as the footpath is closed during the bird breeding season. Head to one of the bird hides and you may be lucky to spot rare birds such as marsh harriers and water rails.

The beautiful Saltmarshe Estate belonged to the same family from 1067 until the 1970s. Today, it is a grade II listed house set in 18 acres of parkland.
