The river Severn is usually good for generating fog on a cold still morning, and there are fine old trees with mistletoe that create excellent silhouettes.

This stretch of the river Severn is a real delight. It's quiet and level, with quite sizeable and steep sided hills on the other bank in two places (cliffs even?). Not surprisingly you will see people fishing in quiet tranquil conditions.

These disused and now flooded gravel pits are now a haven for all manner of ducks, waders and geese. The area is also perhaps surprisingly quiet so the birds don't get disturbed, and so if you are a bird watcher, this is a great place to go.

Stunning village on the foothills of the Malvern Hills. Centre of the village a duck pond and pub 😍

Great views of Worcestershire Beacon and North Hill. Well-surfaced lane which lead to Malvern/Madresfield

There are circular benches, right under the oak. Alternatively, you can sit near a small lake in front of the oak.

Nice, not a very quiet place, though, in Hanley Swan. There are 3 benches, so you can sit down and look at local fauna.
