The low rolling chalk hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds can be seen to the East.

Nettleham is a quaint village in Lincolnshire whose history can be traced back to the Iron Age. This spot marks the village centre and you can see why Nettleham has won the 'Best Kept Village Award' several times - it really is a very pretty village to walk around.

The grave of Thomas Gardiner is situated in the grave yard of the church in Nettleham, Lincolnshire. The grave stone reads - 'Post boy of Lincoln barbarously murdered'. Thomas was only 19 when he was murdered for his post bag in the early 1700s by brothers Isaac and Thomas Hallam who were later executed for the crime.
