Very steep. Only the last few kilometers level off somewhat. Poor views of the pass. However, many professional cyclists can be spotted along the way.

It is a very difficult route, certainly not average. It does indeed start with a well-maintained path, but as soon as you go up the mountain it is not a hiking trail, but a path, where you have to climb and clamber a lot. Near the top you really have to climb with your hands and feet. The road (GPS) is poorly indicated. When it rains it becomes dangerously slippery. We experienced thunder and hail (we left in beautiful weather) which made us underestimate the threatening conditions. We did not finish the route, but descended via the road. This is super far. Think carefully and prepare (eat, drink, jacket) before you start this challenge! In retrospect we are very glad that we did not finish the route! On the road we had a lift from locals who confirmed that this is a very difficult route, with a great risk of changing weather. They indicated that there should be better warnings about this.

For me, Encamp is my favourite training pass. It is demanding at first but then it becomes more bearable.

The path is passable for most of the year, although spring and autumn are the best times to enjoy nature in all its splendour. In winter, some parts may be snowy or frozen, but the trail remains accessible. The route connects with Engolasters Lake, which has been a point of interest both for its natural beauty and for its importance in regulating water in the area. The lake is also associated with hydroelectric production, being part of the system that supplies energy to Andorra.

Magnificent pass, breathtaking views but be careful it can be very cold at the top, even if you are warm in the middle.

Beautiful view over the entire valley once you have mastered the steep climb at the end. Difficult and long descent through rocky and partly steep terrain, the path is not always clearly visible despite navigation via GPS. Some places are secured with ropes.
