This area is known for its focus on aquaculture and environmental tourism. The salt flats were built in the 1920s by Antonio Sánchez Allende-Valledor. Today, the Salinas del Astur offer a variety of activities such as safe recreational fishing, hiking, birdwatching, and photography. You can also enjoy canoeing and observe a wide variety of birds in the Marismas del Odiel Natural Park.

Located seven kilometers from Huelva capital, in the surroundings of Marismas del Odiel Natural Area in the so-called Tierra Llana. In recent years, construction has increased considerably on its land in a new area called Nuevo Corrales, and in some buildings it emulates the English colonial style.

A freshwater lagoon, which preserves a high population of waterfowl and is one of the fundamental wetlands for the survival of birds that migrate to the Peninsula. The lagoon is surrounded by castanets, cattails and reeds.

The El Portil lagoon constitutes one of the most representative Huelva coastal wetlands and is in the best state of conservation, housing a community of fish of great interest. It is a practically circular route around the Laguna del Portil. It begins at the viewpoint located next to the coastal road HV-4112 from where it penetrates into the pine forest that surrounds the lagoon.
