The Hernáiz brothers had the villa built in 1904, when they returned from Puerto Rico after making their fortune there. The Indians commissioned the work to the Basque-French architect Jean Batiste Darriquy. His participation was decisive in the final appearance of the building, as he combined several styles: neo-Norman, for the complex roofs; the eclecticism, in the moldings of the openings and corners; and modernism, in the shapes of the entrance gate and the ground floor terrace. But what is truly striking about the Hernáiz chalet is its irregular structure and the variety of colors (red wood, gray limestone, black slate and the cream color of the paint). They renovated the chalet in 1971, dividing it into three homes, which transformed the interior of the building. It is private property, so it is not open to the public.

The Pozalagua cave is known for housing the largest collection of eccentric stalacticts in the world. Observing this curious phenomenon of nature is well worth a visit to the cave, considered an "underground cathedral". It is necessary to buy tickets and the visit lasts about 50 minutes. Keep in mind that it is quite cold inside the cave.
