Skyline walk. Forests to get up are like a jungle rainforest and then you pop out onto top park.

Wonderful views, including Solsbury Hill.

Nice place to stop for a snack or lunch. This is a short deviation from the Kennet and Avon Canal on to the Somerset Coal Canal.

I got onto this segment from the bridleway so I don't know how far down the hill starts, I'd imagine around the bend to the west. Very sharp and poor surface makes for a pretty grovelly climb. It opens out to hilltop views towards Trowbridge and Bradford.

From this elevated vantage point on Bathampton Down, you can enjoy tremendous views across the stunning southern Cotswolds countryside over the picturesque Avon Valley and the historic city of Bath.

From this point you can run through the gate and across the golf course towards the uni or continue in either direction on the circular Bath Skyline route across Bathampton Down. The running is great in any direction with nice grassy trails and great views over the city.

Popular swim spot

This large basin sits next to the incredible Dundas Aqueduct and often has moored canal boats present. The aqueduct links the Kennet and Avon Canal with the mostly dried Somerset Coal Canal, the latter of which now only has a short operational section that mainly involves the basin. There's a cafe here as well as bike hire if you want to cycle further afield along the canals.
