Dogs will love splashing around in the River Test that crosses the common on the Chilbolton side.

Chilbolton Cow Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with two divides of the River Test flowing through it. The common has chalk and peat soils and supports many interesting flowers, including orchids. You can also observe birds, including kingfishers, hawks, owls, buzzards, kestrels, egrets, and red kites.

St Nicholas’ is a Grade I-listed church in Middleton, Longparish. The church was built in the 13th century, developed in the 15th century and restored in the 19th century. Inside, you can view a font from the 1700s and several wall monuments.

Short but sweet across Chilbolton Common. Careful on the wooden bridges when they’re wet!

If you can manage it, get here a good hour before dawn. You'll then have lovely wide views of the sunrise over the farm land or, a little further towards Harewood Forest, a beautiful view of the next valley.
