プラッシズウッドでの周辺の簡単なハイキングとウォーキング

A worthy shortcut if you wish to get between High Cross and Cold Christmas Lane during spring/summer. Despite being a steep climb northbound, this is less difficult than the evil climb north out of Wadesmill by road, as the land is "tiered", so to speak. Overall though, I'd only do this southbound. Even then, I'd rather come down by road into Thundridge and take Old Church Lane onto Cold Christmas Lane.

This was my destination pub on my ride, a nice old-school pub with decent beers and lovely-smelling food (I was on the S&V crisps myself). Very friendly and lovely old houses in an old looking street. Apologies for my stealth interior photo, is was small and busy and felt a bit weird talking a picture inside :)

Rolling B Road much safer alternative to A10

Supposed to be built backwards, whatever that means! A quiet spot to stop for a break and enjoy the view.

Situated among rolling Hertfordshire countryside, Wareside includes the hamlets of Babbs Green and Bakers End. It's a delightfully rural community and features on the Hertfordshire Way long-distance trail. Notable buildings include the Holy Trinity Church, which was built in an interesting Lombardic style in 1841 and is Grade II-listed. After a long day on the trails, put your feet up in the Chequers Inn, which serves good food.

Nestled to the north of the River Rib, Wadesmill is a pleasant Hertfordshire village. Nearby is the pretty Youngsbury Estate, which boasts countryside so lovely that even the legendary Capability Brown remarked that he needed to do nothing to improve what nature had already brought into being. If you are walking in the region and require a refuel, the Feathers, a former 17th century coaching inn, serves good food. The Inn is also home to a 30 bedroom hotel.
