The Brod Fortress is a baroque border fortress on the Sava River, and at the same time a category zero monument and landmark of Slavonski Brod that forms its core. Information about the birthplace of the great sculptor is recorded in the Register of Baptisms of the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist in Vrpolje, where Ivan Meštrović was registered under the surname Gabrilović.
