The disused railway line near Bad Schussenried is the former Federsee Railway, a narrow-gauge railway (750 mm gauge) that operated from 1896 to 1969 and connected Bad Schussenried to Riedlingen. After passenger service ceased in 1964 and freight service in 1969, most of the track was dismantled. However, a remaining section of the section near the Schussen spring from Bad Schussenried to the peat works was converted to standard gauge in the 1970s to maintain operations. In 2013, approval was granted to permanently dismantle the tracks, but this has not yet been completed.

Bad Schussenried State Monastery Museum. This museum showcases the history of the monastery, the role of science, and religious life, and also hosts changing exhibitions.

The state exhibition "Ufrur" on the Peasants' War of 1525 is highly recommended.

It's well worth a look at the choir stalls of the St. Magnus Monastery Church. This craftsmanship is truly impressive. The Choir Stalls: Ornaments, Reliefs, and Figures This is where the priest monks, known as canons, met for their communal choir prayers. Two themes dominate the stalls: On the north side are scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary, while on the south side are scenes from the Passion of Christ, as well as 24 figures of saints and blesseds venerated by the Premonstratensians. The stalls are made of walnut, while the figures and reliefs are made of linden wood. Sculptor Georg Anton Machein (1685–1739) and his workshop created them between 1715 and 1717.

Short but steep climb in the forest in a hollow lane where rainwater drains away.

Beautiful church - a visit is highly recommended.
