The town hall of Friedberg in Bavaria is an important historical building on the centrally located Marienplatz. After being destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style around 1680 by a student of the Augsburg architect Elias Holl. In the council chamber of the town hall there are well-preserved frescoes by the Munich history painter Josef Widmann from 1892 as well as a coffered ceiling from the time of construction. The historic town hall tower was rebuilt in 1911. Today the town hall serves as the seat of parts of the city administration and shapes the cityscape of Friedberg. It is a popular photo motif and a central location for events and markets.
