The tourist information office is located in the entrance area of Chorin Monastery, along with the monastery shop. It offers free advice, maps, and information on attractions in the Schorfheide-Chorin region. Visitors can purchase monastery tickets, receive information on exhibitions, tours, and events, as well as tips on excursions, restaurants, accommodations, and spiritual offerings. In addition, there is the opportunity to charge smartphones and tablets free of charge, and free Wi-Fi is available on the monastery grounds. The monastery shop sells cycling and hiking maps, regional publications, postcards, and seasonal items from local artisans (e.g., ceramics, glass, and jewelry).

The mill was expanded by the Cistercians and developed into a large workshop, which served as a machine hall and, in addition to milling grain, also facilitated other production processes such as hammering, stamping, and oil-making. The buildings were constructed of granite ashlars, which are still clearly visible today. The mill building was probably originally four stories high and designed as a four-wheel mill with four openings for waterwheel shafts.

There are several hiking trails in the area, including a 1.9-kilometer, easy loop around the lake, which takes about 30 minutes and features botanical highlights and forest sections. Longer walks are also possible, such as the 3-kilometer loop around the Amtssee lake, right next to the monastery.

The monastery cemetery, located immediately north of the monastery church, is one of the most important collections of forestry burial grounds in Germany and has served as a burial site since 1281. It contains approximately 50 graves, more than half of which belong to foresters, and is also the final resting place of notables such as the architect Max Taut, who was buried there in 1967.

The Nettelgraben was created in the 13th century by the Cistercian monks of Chorin Monastery to drain Lake Parstein via Lake Weißer See and Lake Chorin Amtssee with the Ragöse River. The ditch originally served to supply the monastery and the monastery mills with sufficient water, as the natural outflow of Lake Chorin was insufficient.
