A wooden sculpture of the Sandman enhances the Christkindlweg (Christmas Trail) in Boží Dar. Viewers of GDR television know this Sandman, designed by Gerhard Behrendt, with the pointed cap and white goatee from the "Abendgruß" (Evening Greetings), broadcast daily since November 22, 1959. It is the television series with the most episodes worldwide: a good 22,000 "Sandmännchen" (Sandman) episodes have been broadcast over the past 65 years. Since German reunification, "Unser Sandmännchen" (Our Sandman) has continued to be produced on behalf of ARD and broadcast on the early evening programs of RBB, MDR, and KiKA. Watching this show was and remains a bedtime ritual for young children in many households.

The Plessberg is 1,028 m high. In Czech it is called Plešivec.

Touring skiing is regulated on the Plessberg. The use of the ski slopes is prohibited while the lifts are in operation.

What a wonderfully beautiful place 😍

Nestled in the picturesque mountains of Dittersbach (Jetrichovicer), the Marienfels towers, crowned by a pavilion that impresses not only with its architecture but also with its attention to detail: the Mariina Skála. This building embodies the symbiosis of human creation and natural beauty and is a true masterpiece. A short but intense climb leads to the summit. And although the path is demanding in places, the effort is quickly forgotten once you reach the top. Because up there, high above the valley, there is a view that is second to none. Especially in the morning light, when the first rays of sun break through the fog and bathe the valley in a golden light, you witness a natural spectacle that is second to none. The hut, where you can find protection from wind and weather, was designed with a lot of dedication and a sense of detail. It is a place of peace where you can stop and fully enjoy the beauties of Bohemian Switzerland. Despite the popularity of this place and the often numerous visitors, there are moments of silence, especially at the end of the day, when the sun bathes the sky in warm colors and you have the breathtaking scenery almost to yourself.

Plešivec is one of the highest mountains in the Ore Mountains and offers a breathtaking view of the wide valleys and mountains of the Ore Mountains. You can't get enough of the view. Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad) can also be seen clearly from up here, as it is just a few kilometers away. There are several ways to climb Plešivec. The southern ascent is quite steep and rocky on the last half kilometer. The northern ascent or descent via the "mythical path" with the wooden figures is easier and offers another stunning view of the valley and towards Karlovy Vary at a lookout point.

Jedlová (German: Tannenberg) is a mountain in the north of the Czech Republic, in the Ústí Region, in the eastern part of the Děčín district as the second highest peak of the Děčín district, in the south of the Šluknov ridge, in the cadastral territory of the municipality of Jiřetín pod Jedlovou. It is located 7 km southwest of Varnsdorf and 2 km southwest of the center of Jiřetín.

It is not possible to cross-country ski to the summit of the Plessberg. From the end of the trail you can walk to the summit in a short distance. The stay is worth it for the view.
