It can get incredibly busy, especially on Sunday afternoons. It's a great place for a break during a walk.

As a teenager, I spent several days listening to music from the fence on my racing bike. Back home, they thought I'd been training for ages again... I found it incredibly fascinating. It was also the first multi-day festival on mainland Europe. Naturally, it was heavily inspired by the Woodstock festival held in the US the year before.

A beautiful spot in the city. In 2020, the Kralingse Bos forest underwent a major upgrade, including this creek with its beautiful name.

The well-preserved windmills are worth a visit.

The first 2 years of my life I lived opposite this forest. I can't remember anything about it but it does create a bond. My grandmother, where we lived at the time (shortage of housing is everyday) sometimes told that her father secretly went chopping wood during the war. That was of course extremely dangerous. Despite the logging during the war, the forest has dried out considerably and in some places is a beautiful rich forest.
