Oberhofen wines benefit from the mild climate of Lake Thun and the sun-drenched location on the right shore of the lake. They are a local specialty and, due to the small but exquisite vineyards, also somewhat of a rarity.

Spiez train station The railway lines to Thun, Interlaken, Zweisimmen and Brig run from Spiez. For topographical reasons, Spiez train station could not be built down by the lake, but was instead located on a level ground about 70 meters higher. The distance and, above all, the considerable difference in altitude were not very attractive for passengers changing trains and ships. The construction of a connecting tram line was therefore a logical step and operations began in 1905. The tram only ran in the summer season (like the ships) and operated around 20 pairs of services. The small depot was located roughly halfway along the route. Major maintenance work was carried out by the BLS workshop in Spiez, which also provided temporary staff. When the Bern Municipal Tramway started operating more and more bus lines, it changed its name to Bern Municipal Transport Company, SVB. The Spiez connecting line was now opened and it would have to change its initials to SV. This happened in written correspondence, but the vehicles were labeled with SVB until they were discontinued. The town hall was built around 1500. At that time it was probably two-storey: there was an open hall downstairs and the council chambers upstairs.

The unique chaos station, all buses leave at the same time

Spiez station is the BLS AG station in the town of Spiez in Switzerland. Today it is a junction station. The station was opened in 1893 with the construction of the Scherzlingen (Thun)-Därligen railway line by the Thunerseebahn. The Lötschberg mountain line finally made Spiez an important transfer station in 1914. The station building from 1915 is listed in the building inventory as "worthy of protection". A "must" for fans of the Swiss railways! 😎😎
