This is where the locals shop. Inside there is a large section for fish and seafood as well as meat and fruit/vegetable stalls. Outside the building there are temporary stalls selling things like flowers, clothing, bags, etc. I was there on a Saturday. I don't know if it's like this every day. There is also a stall selling churros. There is seating in front of it.

A market is always worthwhile. Whether you're shopping, just looking, wanting something to eat and drink. Most of the time you get to talk to the locals.

The building of the "Mercado Central de Abastos de Jerez" on Calle Doña Blanca was built on the site of the old convent of San Francisco from 1873 to 1885. This makes the market hall one of the oldest in the entire province of Cadiz. The neoclassical structure was designed by local architect José Esteve, and the iron parts of the structure were made in Belgium.
