You should pay the fee to visit. Plenty of signs and information to get here but no mention of a fee. £1 per person, £1 per car, 50p per child.... at this point we stopped reading as we don't carry cash. Woman came from the house to make sure we didn't slip in. Fully understand that it's private land and you have to pay to enjoy it. Just wish we'd known before we set off.

Short but beautiful and more than worth a visit. Great place for food at entrance and a lovely gushing falls walk. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the falls. We visited in July and the flow was impressive and definitely one to tick off the list for any waterfall chasers

Don't be put off by the £2 charge it's stunning and worth a wander

A beautiful gorge, accessible via a short hike from the landowners' parking lot. The fee is £1 per person plus £1 for parking. You can drop your money into a box, and upon our arrival, an elderly lady with crutches appeared and offered change. The gorge is truly worth seeing. Even if you continue hiking along the river, you'll discover wonderful places to linger.

This is not on the Watkins path

The grand, ornate stone dam of Alwen Reservoir couldn't be more of a contrast to the neighbouring Llyn Brenig Dam. It's well worth taking a minute or two to take in this magnificent feat of engineering, that was completed in 1920. The reservoir here was built to provide drinking water for Liverpool and the Wirral.

The Watkin Path up Snowdon is one of the hardest strenuous routes to take to get to the summit of Wales’ highest mountain. The path was created by Edward Watkin as a means to get from the South Snowdon Slate Quarry to the summit and was opened officially by Prime Minister William Gladstone in 1892. This has to be one of the most beautiful spots in the whole of Snowdonia and, maybe therefore, in the whole of the UK? There are numerous tracks up to the top of Snowdon, the Watkin Path being one which we find to be the most picturesque.

The views over Alwen Reservoir from this section along the northern shore are simply wonderful! You'll take them in if you follow the waymarked Alwen or Lakes Circular routes. You move between open views and between the trees, but both are pretty spectacular, especially at sunset.
