The Ho Chi Minh City Hall (officially Hội đồng Nhân dân Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) is one of the city's most photographed buildings and a magnificent example of French colonial architecture. It was built between 1892 and 1908 by the French architect Fardel. Its style is modeled after the Paris City Hall (Hôtel de Ville), featuring clock towers, reliefs, and sculptures.

The fountain on Nguyen Hue Walking Street is shaped like a glass lotus blossom, the national flower of Vietnam. It is located at the intersection of Nguyen Hue and Le Loi streets, directly in front of the Sun Wah Tower. The fountain features a light and music show, in which numerous water jets dance in sync with the music and lighting. The music and art show takes place on weekdays from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and on weekends it begins at 4:00 p.m.

It is one of the most visited museums in the country. The museum documents the history of the Vietnam War and related conflicts. The exhibits depict the harrowing reality and human cost of the war through photographs, artifacts, and outdoor military displays. It is located in a former American administrative building. It was formerly known as the "Museum of Chinese & American War Crimes," but the title was later changed.
