Hiking trails lead along the north and south sides of the canyon, offering frequent views of the waterfalls.

This 110-foot waterfall is only small in comparison to the lower falls, which are almost 330 feet high. Needless to say the upper falls are still magnificent, and the interesting colors in the canyon walls are the result of this region's constant hydrothermal activity.

In May there can still be quite a lot of snow here, as this side is in the shade.

Artist Point is rated as the best view in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. The overlook sits atop the southern rim of the gorge and provides spectacular views of the Lower Falls and Yellowstone River.

Lower Falls is the largest waterfall in Yellowstone National Park, standing at 308 feet tall. The falls are said to be the second most photographed place in the park, just being edged out by Old Faithful. Numerous viewing locations are found on each side of the gorge, but the views from nearby Artist Point are the most popular for visitors.

Upper Yellowstone Falls is located on the Yellowstone River and has a vertical drop of 110 feet (33 m). Only a quarter of a mile upstream from its bigger brother, Lower Falls, these falls are a magnificent sight to behold, with plenty of viewing points located on each side of the gorge.

What an incredible spot! The views are stunning, the waterfall, the canyon and all the colors make a perfect combination for a breathtaking panoramic views!
