A beautiful climb that complements the Serle climb. A spectacular 4 km with steep gradients. And it's recognized as a "natural monument"! https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monumento_naturale_Altopiano_di_Cariadeghe

The Lova Dam is a hydroelectric facility built in 1935, forming Lake Lova above Borno in Val Camonica. It is constructed of embankments and an earth core, and has a capacity of approximately 80,000 cubic meters. This dam lies at an altitude of 1,293 meters, in a glacial basin between Pizzo Camino (2,491 m) and Monte Mignone (1,742 m). The reservoir collects the waters of the Lovareno stream, while the outflow is the San Fiorino stream, which flows downstream. From a technical perspective: Origin: Artificial, for hydroelectric purposes. Construction: Earth dam with partial linings. Central catchment area: approximately 2.6 km². Lake surface area: 0.133 km², 400 meters long and 300 meters wide. Today, the dam retains its original function, but is also an integral part of a popular hiking landscape. The resulting lake is nestled in a pre-Alpine environment, with spruce forests and pastures, and can be reached via well-marked trails from Borno, such as the one starting from the church of San Fiorino.

Lake Lova is a picturesque hiking destination located above Borno, on the Altopiano del Sole plateau in Val Camonica. It is appreciated for its alpine landscape, tranquility, and the variety of trails that surround it. The lake is located at approximately 1,392 meters above sea level and can be reached via several hiking trails, including the Sentiero della Memoria (Path of Remembrance) that starts from the church of San Fiorino in Borno. After a short paved stretch to the Trattoria Navertino, you take a dirt path that winds through larch and fir trees, with steep sections and slippery cobblestones. The hike is immersed in a natural environment typical of the Lombard Prealps. The hike is immersed in a natural environment typical of the Lombard Prealps, with natural fountains and good cell phone coverage. A longer alternative is the Monte Mignone – Lago di Lova circular hike, approximately 11.1 km long with an elevation gain of 837 meters, to be done counterclockwise. This route offers spectacular views and passes through pastures and woods, with the lake as its focal point. Lago di Lova is also a hub for other trails: from here, you can continue towards the Rifugio San Fermo or the Rifugio Laeng, following CAI trails 106 and 182. Parking is available near the lake, making it accessible even for less experienced hikers. From a scenic perspective, the lake is nestled in a green valley surrounded by woods and pastures, with calm waters reflecting the sky and surrounding mountains. It's an ideal destination in all seasons, but particularly captivating in autumn for the colors of the foliage.

Great view of Lake Garda. The ascent is very steep, and so is the descent, of course. But on this hike, you're far away from the never-ending traffic on the lakeside road and the exhaust fumes. There's only one refreshment stop at the end or beginning of the tour. de

Worth a visit. They serve small cakes and pastries of various kinds, all carefully crafted. 🍧🧁 They contain various cream fillings, berries, and cream, which are delicious. A good alternative to ice cream. 🍨
