One of the most magical hike I’ve done so far. Incredibly easy access for so much visual pleasure. You feel like an Elf straight out of the Lord of the Rings saga.

Unfortunately the glacier is not accessible anymore so the only thing you see is some rough ice in the far distance. I would still recommend this hike though but more for the scenery along the way, especially Moraine walk.

If you ever wanted to feel like the Elfs from Lord of the Rings, this is the place. It feels magical with some amazing picture opportunities. The walk is not tough so can also easily be completed with kids.

Great view

You should have some reserves of fitness, the track is more difficult and tricky than described in some parts. Good footwear is a must. Not recommended for inexperienced hikers. Overall, a great trail with a beautiful view of the glacier at the end. You should allow at least as much time for the return journey.

Beautiful views over the gorge. Known for its vivid turquoise waters, the gorge is surrounded by lush native bush and dramatic rock formations. The striking water color is caused by glacial flour—fine sediment from nearby glaciers—suspended in the river, reflecting sunlight. Visitors can explore the area via scenic walking tracks, including suspension bridges offering breathtaking views. Open year-round. If it’s not busy you can cycle the path up to the bridge.

It makes sense to wait at the blowholes until a really big wave hits; only then does it become spectacular and the spray shoots up through the blowholes in fountains.
