The door is open, entry is free, however the stairlift was out of order. After 101 steps, one can enjoy a view of the Welzow open-cast mine.

The three-sided farm, built around 1910, impresses with its historic fieldstone architecture. The three-sided farm was used by the local LPG until the 1990s. Cattle and pigs were kept on the farm until then. With the development of Steinitz as a tourist destination, the three-sided farm took on a whole new significance. After its complete renovation, the Steinitzhof was officially opened as a modern cultural and information center on December 15, 2011.

Very nice to look at

There are 101 steps to reach the viewing platform of the almost 30-meter-high Steinitz Staircase. From here, the view extends far across the Lusatian region.

From the viewing point you have a good view of the open-cast mine.

Construction of the Proschim village church began in 1914. Due to the outbreak of the First World War, construction had to be interrupted several times, so that the church was not completed until 1919.

The house, built in 1907, was used as a school building until 1993 and was renovated in 1999 as a listed building. Today, the old village school houses the town's youth and leisure center, the town library, the "Golden Autumn" senior citizens' center including club rooms, a music school, language courses, creative courses and a hostel with 19 beds.

A great view of a "moon landscape" as a contrast to the surrounding lakes of the Lusatian lake district.
