An interesting fact is that the uncle of the famous Johann Sebastian Bach was a cantor here and played the organ in the church for many years. "His" organ no longer exists, but his former home still does. There is a memorial plaque there. The church itself is closed and cannot be visited, although many tourist guides rave about its interior.

The town hall itself is worth seeing, but the market square is not exactly inviting for long lingering. The church of Henfstädt is a church fortress, which is surrounded by a wall and also by buildings. Unfortunately it cannot be visited, but the grounds are accessible - not from the square in front of the church, as it initially appears, but only from Mittlere Dorfstraße.

The viewing point right on the edge of the forest is really great. The view from the comfortable but slightly overgrown bench extends to Henftstädt. Directly above the bench towers the oak tree with its deeply hollowed-out trunk.
