The Landgrafenborn spring is considered the true source of the Nidda River and lies just a few meters above the well-known "Nidda spring." The water emerges from a rock and shortly thereafter joins the young stream of the Nidda. The spring is situated at an altitude of approximately 726 meters in the Oberwald forest of the Vogelsberg Mountains and is a quiet, sheltered spot in the headwaters of the raised bog.

A beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Breungeshain Heath raised bog – a rare, boggy, and damp biotope in the Vogelsberg region. From here, the view opens up across the wide, open areas and the landscape characterized by heath, grasses, and moorland vegetation.

Historic raftsman's house on the Schwarzbach stream – a small, traditional wooden building that recalls the former rafting culture in the Vogelsberg region. Today, it's an idyllic spot by the water, perfect for a short break and a glimpse into the region's history.

A striking glacial erratic on the Vogelsberg Geo-Trail, believed to have arrived in the region during the Ice Age as the so-called "Old Swede." An exciting geological point along the trail, ideal for a short break and a glimpse into the geological history of the Vogelsberg. 🪨📚🌋

From the Hoherodskopf summit, a sweeping view opens up across the Vogelsberg region – on a clear day, you can even see as far as the Taunus, Rhön, and Spessart mountains. It's the perfect spot for a short break, taking photos, and enjoying the open plateau. 🏔️🌄🌬️
