From the slightly elevated Belauer Straße you have a certain view of the lake.

At the end of the 19th century, Wilhelm Rücker had a neo-Gothic country house, the "Schoss," built on the steep eastern shore of Lake Belauer on the so-called Pferdeberg hill. A striking feature of the family graves is a truly gigantic spruce tree by the roadside.

"Concordia domis foris pax" is a 19th-century Latin inscription on the side of the Holsten Gate in Lübeck facing away from the city. It means "unity within, peace without."

There are various events here several times a year - but even when there are no events, it is worth taking a walk around the pond and especially in the small gardens.

The attractively designed transformer box enriches the townscape.

A really beautiful, well-kept and free bathing area with all the trimmings. Exemplary. I like it a lot.

The Schmalensee is located west of the town of Schmalensee and on the border of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park. It is around 90 hectares in size and up to 7.5m deep. It is part of the Bornhöveder lake chain, which consists of a total of 6 lakes and is also part of the Wankendorfer lake district. South of the Schmalensee in the immediate vicinity is the Bornhöveder See, both are connected by a branch canal about 100m long.
