The watchtower in Weikersheim is a worthwhile destination for hikers, especially because of the magnificent views over the Tauber Valley, Weikersheim Castle, and the town. It is part of the historic Landwehr fortifications built in the Middle Ages to fortify the town.

Something hidden, you have to look for it

Built in 1894/95 in the 19th-century Historicist style by government architect Ulrich Pohlhammer, it replaced previous buildings (some of the epitaphs are preserved). While the neo-Romanesque style dominates the nave, the choir changes to neo-Gothic. Stained glass windows by Prof. Jo Karl Huber (Laudenbach), principal pieces by Leo Wirth (Laudenbach), and rich figural decoration from the 16th to 19th centuries.
