"From 1942/1943, around 20 Russian "Hiwis" (volunteers) or prisoners of war also served at the guns and wore their Russian grey-brown "drill" uniform. A non-commissioned officer was responsible for the training and instruction of the prisoners of war in the battery. During the course of the war, a second battery ("Schulensee" battery) with 4x 12.8cm guns was built in Meimersdorf in order to be able to fight the enemy aircraft flying at ever greater altitudes.
