The hunting lodge above Rockensüß is a stop on the C1 “Three Crosses” hiking trail. When the weather is good, you can enjoy a sensational view from up here as far as the Meißner and Ringgau.

If you walk south from the Cylinder Man on French Road, after a few meters you will pass a funnel-shaped sinkhole on the right. In the local region you can often find sinkholes or sinkholes of a similar type that result from the rock composition of the local region.

The enclosed (false) Sontra spring is located in Königswald, in the Oberland. A stone with an engraving indicates that this is the Sontra spring. However, the natural source of the Sontra is about 1 km away as the crow flies, slightly below the Mosenberg. According to legend, Königswald is based on a foundation founded by Emperor Barbarossa, who is said to have set up a night's camp here.

On the connecting forest path between the Dankeröder Höhe (hiking car park) and the height between Königswald and Eltmannsee (district border), the rest area with the Blue Bench is located almost in the middle.

At the southern end of Rockensüß, right next to the DGH, is this information board that provides information about the circular hiking trails in the community of Cornberg. Here you can start the C2 Eschkopf or enter the C1 Drei Kreuze. Other C-paths start in Cornberg (C4) and Königswald (C3). The paths lead over good and easy to walk hiking trails/paths in the region. A project by the municipality of Cornberg in cooperation with the GEO Park Frau Holle Land. A very worthwhile initiative.

The Three Crosses are located on the eastern Franzosenstraße and there are a few stories about the three crosses. Locals are said to have killed French soldiers or there was a mutiny among the French. Soldiers may have come during which three officers were killed and the last variant of a failed raid where the three robbers were executed. All in all, a very nice place with historical significance, which can be easily integrated into cycling and hiking tours.
