The main square in Enns is the historic center of Austria's oldest town and is dominated by the striking 60-meter-high town tower, the town's landmark. Surrounding the square are well-preserved town houses from various eras, which today house shops, restaurants, and the Lauriacum Museum. The main square is a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike – markets, events, and festivals are regularly held here. The square is particularly attractive for cyclists, as it is located on the Danube Cycle Path (R1) and offers an ideal rest stop with cafés and attractions.

Enns is considered the oldest town in Austria. Very pretty, nice to walk around and have a meal at the main square.

The castle was built in the 16th century and once served as a fortress and residence of the Counts of Ennsegg. Today the castle is privately owned. The Enns State Music School has been housed in the wings since 2001, and Ennsegg Castle is also used for various events, such as concerts, exhibitions and festivals. The outdoor area is open to visitors, and guided tours are possible by prior arrangement.
