The Danube-Auen National Park is surrounded by a well-developed network of cycle paths, including routes along the Fischa River near Fischamend. The area is flat and unspoiled, making the paths particularly attractive for recreational cyclists. From Fischamend, you can embark on both short excursions along the Fischa and longer tours. The routes are well signposted and suitable for relaxed cycling, allowing you to experience the region in a variety of ways.

The old fire station on Getreideplatz was built in 1819 in the classicist style and is a remarkably early example of this type of building. It was used by the Fischamend-Markt fire department.

A wonderful cycle path begins right behind it at the parking lot, which soon leads through the forest along the river to Maria Elend. Also a hit on foot.

The city tower, also known as the market tower and fish tower, is the landmark of the Lower Austrian town of Fischamend and was built in 1050 as a border and watchtower under Emperor Henry III. built. After a fire in 1834, the landmark was renovated and largely received its current appearance. The almost 31 m high tower served as a community hall and night watchman's apartment until 1927 and has since been used as a local museum.

A first church existed before 1074. The parish around 1100, a pastor was mentioned in a document in 1170. Initially an independent parish from 1666 belonging to the diocese of Passau, the parish went to the Archdiocese of Vienna in 1729. The mighty nave hall was built around 1700 in the transition from early to high baroque. In 1995/1997 the outside of the church was restored.

Very nice tower. Inside there is, among other things, a local history museum.
