Very beautiful section in the middle of nature, not too busy even on weekends.

Very nice cycle path with lots of nature

The cycle path bridge has been rebuilt and the slippery wooden bridge is now history.

In the meantime, a graffiti artist has gone wild at the power station building, making the whole thing a little more pleasant.

This short section makes you forget that you are in the middle of an industrial area. However, there are also some industrial ruins that are still used as cell phone towers.

On the edge of the "Luftwaffenstraße" there are a few buildings that were probably used as ammunition factories or warehouses during the Second World War. On the other side of the forest road there is a ditch. There were railway tracks laid there, apparently for the transport of ammunition. Not everything is documented, however. Further south after the Pecherpfad there is a shooting range belonging to the Austrian Federal Army in a fenced-in area.

The pitch path near Hölles. Some panels describe the pitch work, i.e. the gentle(!) extraction of resin from the trunks of the local black pines. A tour is possible for groups of 10 or more. In addition to the pitch chapel, a pitch hut can also be visited. In the nearby forests, there are still many trees that have been pitched. This can be recognized by the partially missing bark and the cuts in the trunk.

At this point, the Piesting Valley cycle path meets the Piesting, which meanders happily through the landscape. As the name suggests, the river is your faithful companion on the cycle path - here you are particularly close to the water.
