With its multi-pronged spire, stair towers, and delicately curved roofs, gables, and pilasters, the Koblach parish church is a striking sight, even just from its exterior. It sits enthroned on the slopes of the Kummenberger mountain, resembling a castle and a striking landmark of the village. Completed in 1907—designed by the Swiss architect Albert Rimli—it replaced the previous Baroque church. However, the interior furnishings took longer to complete. It wasn't until an exterior restoration in the 1960s that the church received the furnishings seen today. At the same time, the ceiling panels, which had previously been plain white, were painted. Frescoes by the Innsbruck artist Wolfram Köberl on the themes of creation, redemption, and glorification can be seen on the church ceiling. @copyright vorarlberg

Neuburg Castle Ruins, Koblach The hilltop castle is located in the middle of the Rhine Valley near the Kummenberg. Although only the extensive ruins remain today, visitors still get an impression of the former size of the fortified castle. When it was built is unknown. In a document from 1152 it is mentioned as the property of the Staufers. The oldest part of the castle is the so-called keep. It was probably built in the second third of the 12th century and was more of a fortified residential building, a tower house. An entrance carved into the rock was found at the entrance to the basement of the palace. On the top of the castle section gate, dripstones, or more precisely stalactites, have formed. These are formed from dripping water, which indicates that water is seeping through the wall above, which is not particularly good for its durability. Note: There is a special occurrence of dripstones very close to the Neuburg, in the Kalkofenhöhle. These were discovered during the construction of the motorway and unfortunately largely destroyed by unreasonable people. There is a vineyard near Neuburg. In 1685, the chronicler Prugger wrote of it: "Good wine grows there and is ripe 14 days earlier than in other places every year." A Negrelli map from the 19th century still shows that there were vines there at that time. A 5 x 5 meter concrete cube, the Arbogast Water House, has been standing in a valley basin in the Götzner district of Arbogast since 2003. Its walls and ceiling are riddled with 820 precisely drilled round openings - a masterpiece of engineering. When you step inside, you can see the drinking fountain, the water basin on the floor, light reflections and the surrounding nature. It is a space of peace and contemplation, a place where awareness of the life-giving, precious and at the same time endangered element of water is heightened.
