The complex of the Benedictine monastery in Seckau, where monks still live, is really impressive. Be sure to take a look inside the basilica. This "Floating Mur Bridge" is not far from Kobenz and St. Margarethen and crosses the Mur. There are benches on the bridge to rest on while watching the water rush by. The height of the bridge depends on how high the water is. This bridge is a popular destination for a short walk and bike ride and is easily accessible. It's always worth a visit!

The Seckau Abbey is part of the Graz - Seckau diocese and is very famous. Lots of people come here to see the beautiful basilica. Years ago the left tower collapsed here because the onion domes were too heavy. Since then there has been a pointed roof. The outer towers still bear onions today. There is also an all-day high school with many students in the abbey. That is why many school buses come early in the morning. In winter a large, famous nativity scene is set up here in the abbey, where you can also see many monks. By the way, there are still monks in Seckau today who keep the rules of St. Benedict.
