From this spot you have a beautiful view of the Effelder Waldsee lake.

Unfortunately (as of February 2026), the view of the lake from the cabin's "windows" is heavily overgrown. This should probably be cleared soon, otherwise the cabin is of little use as a birdwatching hide.

From here you can reach the Dalheimer Mill in just a few minutes.

Amidst the greenery of the Schwalm-Nette Nature Park, a charming ranger's hut is hidden among trees and shrubs.

This marshland along the Schaagbach is a little paradise for those who love unspoiled nature. Reed beds, aquatic plants, and meandering streams create a vibrant ecosystem, home to frogs, dragonflies, and waterfowl. The gentle lapping of the water and the rustling of reeds in the wind make any walk here particularly peaceful.

From this vantage point, a magnificent panorama unfolds over the Schaagbach stream, where the water flows peacefully through the landscape. Small rapids and reflective pools create a play of light and movement, while the surrounding greenery provides a serene backdrop. Birds and insects provide a subtle soundtrack to nature, and if you look closely, you might even spot a frog or dragonfly along the bank.

You don't have to take the downhill path if you prefer to walk on level ground. The ruins are small, and unfortunately, there's a lot of trash lying around, which simply has no place in nature.
