In 1334 Groschwitz was first documented as an estate in a Stadtilmer monastery letter. It is a Slavic foundation. At times it became a sheep farm, a chamber property and ultimately belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, later as a parade ground and LPG. At the time of change there was a threat of demolition, now renovation and tourist use by the Königsee agricultural cooperative. HAT OFF to what has been created here and is developing. From here there are various circular hiking trails, making it a highly recommended excursion destination for the whole family. The location is great for celebrations (delicious food & accommodation & museum & ambience & surroundings).
