The castle features a polygonal, almost circular curtain wall that has been altered several times over the centuries. It is constructed of granite blocks, while the corners, door frames, oriels, and other parts are partially made of smooth sandstone blocks. Only traces of later construction remain within the inner bailey. The imposing round keep stood freely in the center of the courtyard. Its location is now indicated by a reconstructed wall. The inner bailey is surrounded by three outer baileys. The inner bailey encircles the curtain wall at a close distance. The two outer baileys extend at a more generous distance, partially incorporating the town wall. They date back to the 14th century.

Unfortunately, due to the dense fog today, nothing could be seen.
