It leads over the babbling Tönissteiner Bach and connects the moss-covered rock formations with the wildly romantic gorge path. The bridge looks like something out of a fairytale forest, surrounded by ferns, waterfalls, and ancient lava walls.

Erosion and the steep gradient of the gorge have exposed the roots of the ancient beech trees – they literally dig into the moss-covered rocks and, in some cases, hang freely over the hiking trail. The tangle of roots appears like a natural work of art, lending the gorge an almost mystical atmosphere.
