On the ascent, the additional loop marked halfway up with magnificent views is worth it. It adds about 30 minutes. Caution! The summit elevation is incorrectly listed on Komoot. The summit is at 950 m, not the stated 850 m. Shortly before reaching the E9, you can turn right onto a forest path, which connects to a trail. This leads to the starting point. This saves you a few hundred meters of paved walking on a busy road.

As an alternative to the tunnel, there's a small path above. The exit from the gully is just before the tunnel.

The recommendation is limited. The site is very beautiful, close to nature, and features many good ideas, such as seating areas with mosquito nets. There's a boat rental and a swimming lake, among other amenities. However, given the size and expanse of the site, two showers and four toilets (one of which is at child height) are far from sufficient!

Beautiful campsite just under an hour's drive from Kristiansand. A car with a roof tent cost 350 NOK; shower tokens can be purchased at reception.

To be honest, I didn't find the hike "easy": you're constantly climbing and scrambling over rocks and boulders. Sturdy shoes are recommended. But you do get a fantastic view in return!

Very fascinating and bizarre

Thanks to the description, we found the path easily today. Interestingly, our dog showed us the way. This meant we were able to find the crash site without looking at our mobile phones. If you are traveling in Norway, a hike there is recommended, even if a large part of the route is on a gravel path.
