Ousel Falls Trail in Big Sky offers a short, scenic hike along the South and West Forks of the Gallatin River, crossing three bridges before reaching the stunning waterfall. At the trail split, hikers can choose from four paths: the South Fork Overlook, the top of the falls via a natural footpath, the base of the falls with a picnic area, or the rocky Ousel Falls Overlook. This popular trail is best hiked between May and October, and dogs are welcome. Do note that roads to the trailhead may be seasonally closed.

Easy well-maintained hike to the falls from the parking lot. If you want a little more interesting of a hike, make sure you don't miss the "connector", which adds some more climbing and descending, but it takes you closer to the Gallatin River, and there is another beautiful small stream that you cross along the way. Built up. nicely with boardwalks that would be fun on a mountain bike.

The South Fork Spanish Creek Trail is a wilderness trail in the Lee Metcalf Wilderness between the towns of Bozeman and Big Sky. The basins in this wilderness area offer some of the best wildlife viewing experiences with the riparian environments welcoming fields of wildflowers, alpine lakes, and breeding grounds for moose and bears.

Amazing views from Virginia City's first cemetery. Located along Alder Gulch, Virginia City was part of the richest placer gold strike in the Rocky Mountains of the 18th and 19th century! During which it was designated as the new territorial capital of Montana.

Travel back in time in this open air museum with period accurate buildings, some completely original. There are also plaques on the buildings with historical information. Take a peek in the building’s windows for a look into life as it was in the late 1800s.

Pioneer Falls is a popular spot sought out by many hikers. From the trails, you can watch as it cascades 40 feet (12 m) down the hillside. It is on the Falls Creek Trail just off the South Fork Spanish Creek trail.
