The Exploration Center is well worth a visit if you are venturing out on the O&E Towpath. The center is small, but holds a lot of history from mid-19th century America. There are restrooms at the trailhead which remain open, even when the center is closed.

The now-overgrown lock was once an integral part of the Ohio & Erie Canal. A sign by on the towpath tells the history of the old lock.

Acacia Reservation is a 155-acre green space tucked between Legacy Village and Beachwood Place in Lyndhurst, just off Cedar Road and Richmond Road. Once a private golf course, it’s now part of the Cleveland Metroparks system and has been gradually rewilded into meadows, forests, and wetlands. A 1.7-mile paved loop circles the property, popular with walkers, runners, and cyclists looking for an easy outing.

Lock 37, located along the Ohio & Erie Canal in Cleveland, offers a glimpse into the region's rich canal history. The site features a preserved lock, which was once part of the canal system that facilitated trade and transportation. Visitors can learn about the canal's role in local development while enjoying scenic views of the waterway and surrounding nature.

Though just 757 feet tall, Cedar Point peak makes for a popular pit stop along runs through Cleveland's Rocky River Reservation. Tucked amid the metro park landscape, a quick scramble up the modest overlook lets joggers take in tranquil sights of the preserve unfurling below.
