Take a little rest at the picnic area during your walks through Southern View Community Park. The shelter hosts multiple picnic tables with benches, toilets, trash cans and a charcoal grill.

This Treeless Treehouse is one of the highlights of Southwind Park. It's located in the center of the park and is built of large tree logs. As everything inside the park, the treehouse if fully accessible with wheelchairs thanks to a ramp.

Just a few meters south of the parking lot at Old Chatham road, you need to cross that little bridge over Lick Creek to get to the western trails.

A small part of the trail inside Carpenter Park follows Sangamon River. At some spots you can take a look at the river flowing by.

Washington Park in the west of Springfield was founded in 1901 and nowadays hosts various facilities as walking trails, two ponds, a playground, a tennis center and last but not least, the botanical garden of Springfield.

Southern View Community Park is located in the very south of Springfield. The sunny park hosts playgrounds, a trail that goes around the park and a beautiful pond where you can watch ducks and geese. A great location for families.

As the name indicates, Lake Trail is part of the trails of Lincoln Memorial Garden and leads along Lake Springfield. Enjoy the nice views!

Nice spot to take a little rest in the shade.
