The Hocking River, once known as the Hockhocking River, is 102 miles long and is one of Ohio's most well-known rivers. Some of the most popular activities along the river are birding, tubing, and smallmouth bass fishing.

Rose Lake Dam marks approximately the mid-point between Cedar Falls and Old Man's Cave and is the perfect spot to take a little rest and enjoy the view over the reservoir.

Whispering Falls is located in Hocking Hills State Park and is, with a height of 100 feet, the highest 'waterfall' in the State Park. But be aware, that Whispering Falls isn't flowing constantly and if it is, it usually just carries very little water.

50-feet high Cedar Falls belong to the most photographed waterfalls all over Ohio. And for good reason: in terms of volume, Cedar Falls are the biggest waterfalls in Hocking Hills and once you descend the 100 steps into the grotto, you will know why they are so popular.

Cantwell Gorge Trail is the outer trail at Cantwell Cliffs and follows, as the name suggests, the gorge. As you walk amongst the sandstone cliffs and down into the gorge, you will be impressed by this magnificent piece of nature.

One of two trails leading through Cantwell Cliffs, is the Cantwell Rim Trail. As the name indicates, the path leads along the rim and offers striking views. The Rim Trail is one of the most difficult trails in Hocking Hills, so be aware and use caution.

Besides Ash Cave, there is another very famous recess cave called Whispering Cave. Even though it's not as big as Ash Cave, you will be impressed of its size when you're standing inside the 300 feet wide cave and the included waterfall.
