This unique park is steeped in history, offering visitors a chance to step back in time to the canal days of 1876. The park is situated along the original section of the Miami and Erie Canal, featuring a museum and an authentic canal boat with trails to explore in a charming riverside setting.

This fine gravel path is well-maintained and easy to navigate, surrounded by beautiful upland woods, wet woods, and open meadows. It passes by several picnic areas and is the park's main multi-use trail, so you're likely to see cyclists, runners, and families with strollers out enjoying the day.

This junction leads to a lovely small loop trail connecting to other trails in the park. If you want to extend your hike, it's a beautiful detour, allowing several options to spend as long as you like exploring the grounds.

Secor Park is a beautiful location away from the city. There are several hiking trails where you can immerse yourself surrounded by tall trees, lovely meadows, and prairies. The park includes picnic areas, shelters, playgrounds, and a dedicated cross-country ski trail. It is also home to the largest concentration of native dogwood in northwest Ohio, adding to the beauty of this already spectacular park.

The Towpath Trail runs from Providence Metropark to South River Road near Missionary Island. The views are beautiful, with several picnic areas, parks, restrooms, and water fountains along the path. If you want to extend your hike, Bend View Metropark is four miles from here along this route, with an exceptional overlook boasting panoramic views of the Maumee River.

As one of the park's features, you can take a short ride on an authentic canal boat for a beautiful history lesson and an up-close view of Lock #44. The staff are dressed in Era-appropriate clothing and are very informative about the canals. The tours last about an hour for a small fee.

The Isaac Ludwig Mill, built in 1866, is an old grist mill functioning as a living museum with several stories filled with antique tools and machinery. It's free to explore and a great place to learn about a piece of Ohio history.
