Located just outside of Superior, Arizona, Picketpost Mountain is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. In addition to the namesake mountain you can also access the Arizona Trail and L.O.S.T. Trail #221 from here.

Great hike wear good shoes and bring lots and lots of water. I recommend going in the early mornings to avoid the extreme heat of the day.

The trails in this area are exposed with very limited shade. Undulating and rocky, they are super fun and keep the route really interesting.

This 320-acre park doesn't get its name from an unlucky traveler, but rather a legendary gold mine that is said to be lost somewhere in the surrounding mountains. You can stay overnight at the campground or just visit for the day on the many trails that access the surrounding Superstition Wilderness, and who knows, maybe you'll stumble on the fabled gold mine!

NOT an easy trail. Definitely intermediate to hard level trail. Still, Wave Cave is still a really unique spot with a large rock that resembles a wave. Me and a friend took a much needed nap under that wave before making our trek down. A must see if you are an intermediate to experienced hiker.
